When i tried i found it easier to kind of blur my vision and use peripheral vision to watch the white team. I find this interesting as it demonstrates the reason a magician is able to easily deceive onlookers.
People can only concentrate on one thing at a time, and can only visually focus on one thing at a time. The outside edges of our peripheral vision is quite dumb to detail, instead it detects movement more easily. This is a genetic trait stemming from survival wiring of the brain. The outer edges of vision are controlled by 'rods' which cope in darker environments more readily and are able to detect changes in distance or minute movements easily.
