New Zealand is such a thin country (longitudinally) and the weather patterns sweep across the land in no time at all. A great kiwi band once wrote a song called '4 seasons in one day' and i believe it was this weather that he referred to. Four days ago we had a summers morning followed by light showers, then hail with snow starting on sun down.

Ever since i was a child i have dreamt most nights that i am flying around the world unaided and unconcerned. Occasionally these dreams start out lucid however the power of flight soon provides a focal point and all lucidity is lost. When i saw this man flying through the air powered by a jet engine i could almost imagine how it must have felt. Click on the video to see this nut case in action. 

Why does my new fluorescent light take five minutes to reach it's total brightness?

In many countries that are driven to improve their pollutive emissions fluorescent light bulbs have now become the norm. The formerly used tungsten light bulbs are called so because of a tungsten filament used in construction. While the bulbs produce a usable amount of light their efficiency sorely lacks with a majority of energy lost as heat.
